Superficiality is not a bad thing in itself if you are polite about it, that is not openly criticizing people or stopping all social contact with those whom you find physically unpleasant. Usually people whom you are not attracted to make good friends.

Moreover I think that choosing your partner from a physical as well as other point of view will help you have a more strong attachment to that person. You should like what you see every morning when you wake up and not be flooded by a feeling of compromise, like “I don’t like what I’m seeing but I must see the heart/character of this person”. This does not work.

For girls, if you like tall guys, choose to go out with tall guys. If you go out with a short guys you will feel awkward at the end of the day, no matter how much you like the guy, from the time that this guy is not of your type, one day you will have enough of him. This is cruel said like that but superficiality is cruel in itself. We live in a cruel world…

I never really believed that the weather could have an influence on our humours but now I see it clearly. Maybe I have a bad memory, but I don’t remember ever feeling so bad about the rain and I live in Curepipe.
Perhaps it is the loads of work and tests coming up or the general sadness prevailing. I think I need to cheer up a little and not let the rain get under my skin. Easier said than done… unfortunately.

The Independence Day is the time for us to sit back and think about its meaning to us citizens of Mauritius. What have we gained from the Independence Day? In my opinion we have gained the pride of being called an independent Mauritius. It is always better to fend for yourself than to rely on others, even though the road is tough and filled with challenges. A free Mauritius is a great gift. Forget about politicians, about your own political convictions, we just need to think of our nation and celebrate this 40th independent year with all our heart and all our will.

For me on this day, as a blogger, I wish to send all my congratulations to all those who have been blogging and promoting Mauritius positively or just trying to make a difference, making Mauritius known on the web. You all rock… And long live Mauritius!

Jealousy, according to me, is one of the most dangerous feelings there exists. Jealousy is not only negative in itself, it can have negative impacts on others and can cause the person who suffers from it to act irrationally and stupidly.

Jealousy is a weakness and everyone should try to get rid of it before it ruins your life or reputation. Some silly acts cannot be repaired, so don’t let your jealousy take over and ruin everything for you.

I think valentine’s day is the day every guy in a relationship hates. I don’t know why it is that way, but they feel the need to do everything right on that particular day only and they are not quite successful at doing it since they do not have the practice as 365 or 364 of the remaining days in a year are spent annoying their girlfriend or wife.

If everyday was like valentines day, in the longrun guys would stop seeing the day as an ordeal. The day could even be abolished giving us all the freedom we have always wanted and the right for us girls to be ourselves on the 14th.

Think about it…

Freedom might be just another state of mind, a feeling of liberty, of absence of restrictions, of freedom from all bonds. I have been asking myself for the past hours what could be freedom for me? Afterall, although we are free we can never be totally free. Total freedom would mean a lack of principles, a lack of self-control and a lack of balance and without those three factors we can never be happy.

In this sense I think freedom is good as long as it is limited. Like all good things are good if taken in small portions, freedom does not escape this rule. Take the example of a child, allowing him or her complete freedom would mean that the child would not be able to acquire knowledge on what is good or bad. The lack of total freedom from doing everything will make the child start thinking that some things are good while others are bad. The child will then grow up with this knowledge and this might help him more than once in his adolescence and adult life.

I did not want to talk about slavery or the fight for freedom as I wanted to base myself more on a modern and contemporary context. This is just a short post on freedom, the word being MBB‘s theme of the week.
